Dubai, United Arab Emirates - Above: the famed indoor snow skiing mountain - fun on the slopes year-round!

"I Want To Visit" recently visited Dubai to aid in academic accreditation. Photos include the legendary ninth wonder of the world, the indoor ski slopes, a man-made phenomenom the likes of which has not been engineered until now. Snow ski (or perhaps snowboard) inside a climate controlled dome on fresh man-made powder all year. Enjoy the chair lift ride to the top for a refreshing downhill run and step outside into 110 degree heat, only in Dubai.

The Palm Islands (including the Palm Dubai and the Palms) are artificial man-made islands and, as their name would imply, are formed in the shape of a palm tree. The Palm is an archipelago designed, engineered and built to resemble a crown of fronds in the shape of more specifically a date palm, fashioned in a surrounding crescent. By some accounts, it is larger than New York’s Central Park and almost four times the size of London’s Hyde Park. It is 50 % larger than Jumeirah Palm, another of the large artificial islands engineered and built by man. True architectural feats, the Palm Islands, are the largest man-made islands in the world.
Located in the Middle East, in the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is considered now as one of the fastest growing cities in the world. Boasting other of the world’s iconic structures, including the aforementioned indoor snow skiing slope complete with chair lift, Dubai is on the short list of interesting places that draw fascination and wonderment from around the globe.
